My wife Sharon and I moved to Summit, NJ almost 16 years ago. Like many young families, we aspired to move to Summit for its top-rated schools, thriving downtown, and proximity to the city via a direct train line. We have built a life here with our three children, Sam, Olivia, and Ronan. All three of our children attended Lincoln Hubbard School and Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School. Sam graduated from Indiana University in 2021 after attending Summit High School, Olivia is a senior at NYU after graduating from Kent Place, and Ronan is a junior at Delbarton School after graduating from Summit Middle School. 

 

I spent the first 11 years of my life in the Fordham section of the Bronx. As a young widow, my mother moved my two brothers, my sister, and me to Bayonne, NJ to have the strong support of family and many former neighbors. I attended Fordham University on a basketball scholarship and graduated from The Gabelli School of Business. Before joining the business world, though, I had a diverse basketball career playing in the NBA, CBA, GBA, USBL, Spain, Italy, and Greece over the course of the next 10 years. That experience provided an incredible foundation for the volunteer coaching I have done for each of my kids' basketball, baseball, and soccer teams.

 

After our first son was born, we settled in Maplewood, NJ, and I went to work on Wall Street. Over the next 4 years, I was a clerk on the floor of the NY Stock Exchange. With two young kids now and my wife’s career in media involving heavy travel, we realized we wanted someone closer to home. I left my job on the floor to be a full-time stay at home parent. Over the next 13 years, I have had the challenges and rewards of running our home while being more involved with my children’s activities as a coach, religious ed teacher, and school volunteer while also seeing first hand the workings of our schools as a substitute teacher in all of our public schools.  

 

We love everything Summit is and has been for our family. The friends, community, schools, places of worship, and downtown have made this a very special place to raise a family. If re-elected, I will work hard to contribute to the long term growth and preservation of this incredible community.
